First Baptist Church Humboldt TN

Life Connect Groups
LifeConnect serves as the umbrella ministry.
All discipleship small groups and classes rest under this umbrella at First Baptist Humboldt.  A LifeConnect group is any group of individuals meeting together to study God’s Word.   The most common of these groups are the Sunday morning “Sunday School Classes”.  Many members are leading Bible study each Sunday morning on our FBC campus, while others lead groups at different times and locations.  Whether it is a four-week discipleship small group or an on-going Sunday morning “Sunday School” class, all are part of the LifeConnect Ministry.
The purpose of LifeConnect is to be more like Christ.
The purpose is simple to MAKE DISCIPLES.   These are the three purpose elements of LifeConnect.
The first element is growing spiritually.  This begins at the point of transformation and continues toward being a mature, spiritually minded follower of Christ: a lifelong process.  (Acts 17:11-12, 1 Peter 3:15).  Each group studies God’s Word as the truth establishing the “Biblical lenses” we use to make practical application in loving and living out our life.  LifeConnect groups provide individuals the opportunity to open their life to what God is teaching from His Word using various tools and resources to help understand our current situation knowing the ultimate source for a growing relationship with Jesus Christ to be His Word, the Bible.
The second element is to be “plugged in”.  Since God has gifted and equipped each believer, (1 Cor. 12:18), it is the desire of every transformed follower of Christ to serve our God and Savior.  Empowering and equipping individuals toward “getting plugged in” is part of a maturing believer.  Our ACTS Team (Assimilating Christians to Serve) is prepared to assist members in finding their sweet spot of service and ministry.
The third element is to view the world through the lens of scripture establishing a Biblical worldview seeing our mission to proclaim the Gospel to everyone, (Acts 1:8) and to be prepared to give an answer for the hope we have in Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:15).
