The First Baptist desire is for every member to find their place of service using their gifts, talents and skills for the advancement of the Kingdom of God. This is a brief description of some of the ministries at FBC.

Discipling Ministry

The Discipling Ministry at First Baptist Church is about “making disciples of Jesus Christ”. The purpose of this ministry is to provide opportunities for all ages using a variety of innovative and creative methods toward becoming more like Christ Jesus day by day. Each discipling ministry team prepares a plan of action to support the methods in accomplishing the discipling ministry. The overall goal is that every member will understand their unique God given-design that defines his or her “sweet-spot” in serving our Lord Jesus Christ, all for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

Ministry teams include:

  • Spiritual Development including (Sunday Morning Bible Study, Small Groups, etc)

  • Preschool

  • Children

  • Preteen

  • Youth (includes SLUG, The Commons, etc.)

  • Collegiate

  • Women

  • Men

  • Deaf

  • Learning Resource (Library, Resource Centers, etc.)


Enabling Ministry

Our Enabling Teams are responsible for empowering ministry teams in all other areas of the church. Financial stewardship, property stewardship and personnel/staff relations are some of the ministry areas of the Enabling Ministry.

Our Stewardship team is responsible for compiling ministry plans, executing responsibility and accountability and educating our Family of Faith.

Our personnel team is responsible for employee and ministerial relationships encouraging and advocating on their behalf.

Our ACTS Team strives to help every member find the ministry God has designed them for: strategically located, spiritually gifted, and supernaturally enabled to live by the Great Commission to evangelize and the Great Commandment to love.

Facilities ministries give oversight and supervision to the FBC Campus (internal and external).

Our Trustees serve as council to the pastor related to capital property acquisitions and sales.

These teams prepare an annual ministry plan with associated financial resources to support the ongoing operations of all ministry areas, thus the category-enabling ministry.

  • ACTS Team (Assimilating Christians to Serve)

  • Facilities Teams (includes Property and Space, Grounds, Kitchen, Transportation etc)

  • Trustees


Evangelism Ministry  

Every member is a witness of Christ to our community and ultimately the world as we share the gospel, minister to the needs of people and invite others to experience Christ as Savior and Lord.

Ministry teams include:

  • Outreach

  • LifeConnect Groups

  • Recreation

  • Prison Ministry

  • Communication and Publicity

Member Care Ministry

Member Care focuses on areas that relate to the life of our Family of Faith. Providing for the needs of the local family of faith with opportunities for fellowship and care is a major assignment given in Scripture. Together, we are to share in fellowship, service, and spiritual growth. These teams will prepare an annual ministry plan with associated financial resources to support member care ministries of First Baptist Church.

  • Homebound (Van) Meals

Missions Ministry

Missions ministries are closely connected to our evangelism and discipleship mandate to go and make disciples. These teams promote and support the mission given to the church to “go and make disciples through an ACTS 1:8 focus: Local, State, National and the World. These teams provide ministry plans and associated financial resources for missions, provide mission education, and participate in mission involvement events.

  • Women's Missionary Union

  • Royal Ambassadors

  • Girls in Action

  • Mission Friends

Worship Ministry

Worship ministries are responsible for the regular and special worship services and events. These teams take responsibility for areas related to regular congregational worship, special worship services and special programs involving congregational worship. These teams prepare an annual ministry plan with associated financial resources to support the Worship Ministry goals.

  • First Impression Ministries (Ushers, Hostesses, Red Shirts)

  • Flowers and Decorations

  • Lord’s Supper and Baptismal Services
